In addition to our owned properties, Cabot brings expertise in golf and hospitality management to select partner venues in the U.S., overseeing operations at Cascata Golf Club and Serket in Las Vegas, Grand Bear Golf Club in Mississippi, and Chariot Run Golf Club in Indiana.

Our Story

In 2004, Ben Cowan-Dewar visited a remote stretch of coastline in Inverness, Nova Scotia – a town facing economic hardship after the closure of its coal mines. Where others saw decline, he saw extraordinary potential. That vision became Cabot Cape Breton, now home to the #1 and #3 top ranked golf courses in Canada and consistently featured in the World Top 100 by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. The impact has been transformative, helping to rejuvenate the local economy, employing over 600 people in a community of 1,200, and contributing significantly to the island’s GDP.

Building on the success of Cabot Cape Breton, Cabot has grown to a collection of six remarkable properties across two continents. From humble beginnings to global recognition, Cabot’s journey is only just beginning.

Sustainability

Cabot has been practicing sustainability since the very beginning—reimagining a former coal mine in Cape Breton and breathing new life into the land and community. We believe that the longevity of a course requires environmental sustainability and community stability. Being able to employ the wonderful people who live in these great places is central to making the operations sustainable.
