About Us

Cabot Cape Breton is located in the charming Canadian town of Inverness, Nova Scotia, which founded as a coal-mining town in 1863. When the mines closed, the community faced economic hardship. Ben Cowan-Dewar, a Canadian entrepreneur, founded Cabot Cape Breton with the vision of transforming this remote yet extraordinary parcel of land into a magical golf destination. The opening of Cabot Cape Breton in 2012 helped revitalize the local economy, and today, the region has blossomed into a bustling hub. As the first property in Cabot’s growing portfolio, Cabot Cape Breton has propelled the Cabot brand onto the global stage and into a collection of world-class destinations.

Cabot’s portfolio currently spans six Cabot properties and four Cabot-managed properties. Beyond Cabot Cape Breton, it includes Cabot Saint Lucia in the Caribbean, Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia, Canada, Cabot Citrus Farms in Florida, United States, Cabot Highlands in Scotland, and Cabot Bordeaux in France. With extensive expertise in golf and hospitality management, Cabot also oversees the operations of several premier golf courses through its Cabot-managed properties in the U.S., including Cascata Golf Club and Serket Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier, Mississippi, and Chariot Run Golf Club in Laconia, Indiana.

Heli-Transfers

If you are looking for a quicker and thrilling method of transportation, Heli-transfers are available. You can book to be picked up and dropped off at the chosen arrival airport. If you opt-out of air travel both ways, one of our Mercedes Sprinter vans will be available for booking as well.

Halifax Airport

From Halifax International Airport, it’s a three-hour picturesque drive to Cabot Cape Breton. There are also direct flights from Toronto and Halifax to Sydney (YQY), Cape Breton—a scenic two-hour drive from Cabot.

Private Flights

With two airport options for private flights on the island, traveling to Cabot Cape Breton is a seamless experience. Gateway Sydney, operating out of the Sydney J.A Douglas McCurdy (YQY) is a 22-minute helicopter transfer to Cabot or a 2-hour scenic drive. The Allan J MacEachen Regional Airport, located in Port Hastings, is a 10-minute helicopter transfer to Cabot or a 1-hour scenic drive. Both airports are full-service FBO’s.
